01 / Our approach

There is no standard deer problem.

A young plantation being browsed out needs a different response from an estate with uncertain numbers, a road-risk problem or a cull that has stalled. We start by understanding what is causing concern and what a successful result would look like.

Sometimes the answer is a thermal survey. Sometimes it is a tightly focused cull, a management plan or help putting an existing plan into practice. Often it is a combination. We will explain what is worth doing and what is not.

02 / What we do

What you can ask us to do.

Use Veltris for one part of the job or bring us in from survey through to reporting.

01

Deer management

A cull with a defined purpose.

We plan and carry out deer control for estates, farms, woodland and other landholdings. Before anyone goes out, we agree why the cull is needed, which areas matter most, how the site will be used safely and how progress will be reported.

  • Site assessment
  • Cull planning
  • Field delivery
  • Cull reporting
02

Thermal aerial surveys

An observed count, mapped.

When sightings and cull records are not enough, a thermal aerial survey can show how many deer were observed, which species were present and where they were concentrated. You receive mapped findings that can guide the next decision and provide a baseline for later comparison.

  • Aerial thermal survey
  • Species and distribution
  • Mapped findings
  • Repeat surveys
03

Management plans

Clear decisions for the site.

We turn what is known about the deer, habitat and site into a usable plan: priorities, realistic cull objectives, access and operating considerations, and a straightforward way to review progress.

  • Evidence review
  • Cull strategy
  • Operating advice
  • Progress measures
04

Venison and provenance

Put the result to proper use.

Where carcasses are suitable, we help keep them in a recorded route to human food or pet food. That means better use of the venison, clear provenance and fair payment for skilled deer managers.

  • Recorded provenance
  • Food and pet-food routes
  • Fair payment
  • Batch traceability
