About Veltris

We wanted to do deer management properly.

That means knowing if a cull is needed and why, treating fairly the people who carry it out, keeping a clear record, and making proper use of the venison.

01 / How Veltris began

Veltris grew from our own experience of deer management.

We are a family-founded business, and deer management came first. As we spent more time with estates and deer managers, the same gaps kept appearing: decisions made without enough evidence, practical delivery separated from the plan, and good venison with nowhere sensible to go.

Veltris is our way of joining up those parts. We survey deer, generate management plans and deliver culls. We also support better routes for venison and offer lead-free ammunition for practical, dependable, ethical use.

Staying involved from survey through to delivery exposes bad assumptions quickly. It also means our plans account for access, safety, welfare, carcass handling and the practical limits of a site, not just what looks tidy on paper.

02 / How we work

Measured.

Be honest about what we know.

We use survey results, field signs and the client’s own knowledge. Where the evidence has limits, we say so.

Ethical.

A clean cull is only part of doing the job well.

Welfare matters, but so do fair treatment for the people involved and proper use of the carcass afterwards.

Contextual.

Listen before recommending anything.

Every site has different deer, pressures, neighbours and priorities. We take time to understand them before suggesting a response.
